The food was excellent. My husband and I each ordered an entree combo, and for a couple bucks more, we added a second entree. We then shared our meals so we could try four different dishes. The huli huli chicken was marinaded perfectly and had a slightly grilled taste. I can understand why it is customers' favorite. The loco moco was a beef patty covered in a savory beef gravy with an egg on top. Very tasty. My favorite was the traditional katsu. It was a sliced chicken breast with a thick, crispy coating. It came with a unique sauce, not quite a BBQ sauce, but sweet and slightly spicy. The other dish was beef teriyaki, my husband's favorite. He said it was the best beef teriyaki he's ever had, and I agree. So tender and flavorful. Both meals came with OG Mac, which was an excellent side with a marrying of flavors, not like any Mac I've had before. Tasha, the owner, shared some of her family's Hawaiian history. The restaurant had a bistro feel and was decorated in Hawaiian style, which included a hand-painted waterfall, family photos, and surf boards. We are looking forward to going back for our favorite dishes and trying new ones. We highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for traditional Hawaiian food. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent local Hawaiian food!! The food took a bit but it was great ( I got loco moco) the service was perfect and their desserts are really good!
Amazing experience. The spicy spam masubi tasted so good I forgot to take a picture! Both the huli huli chicken and khalua pork were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The corn and pasta salad also tasted great. We will definitely be coming back, they do Hawaiian food right!
I obtained catering services and was very please with the quality. Everyone at our party was impressed with the flavor. Everything was flavored so well, no sauce was needed! The huli huli chicken and kalbi ribs were a huge hit! Thank you!
I love it, however the last several trips have been disappointing to say the least. I primarily go for the Spam Musubi, but they’ve been out the last 3 times I’ve been there. Not sure if it’s product shortages, or the staff just simply doesn’t want to make them anymore. Either way, 3 times in a row is a trend. The other food is good, but not why I go there.
I wish I wasn't so big back so I could have taken a photo of my food. This place was absolutely phenomenal from beginning to end. Worth the price and the wait for the food. The sides that come with your meal are delicious. Probably my favorite pasta salad in forever. Will come back with my wife.
Holy smokes!!! REALLY good food. I started off with the guava topped cheesecake. It had a really nice creamy texture and taste. I got the loaded fries which had a good flavor. Perfect for a quick appetizer... I got the katsu chicken for my main dish & It came out extremely crispy which in my opinion is perfect!!!! However, when I left I had noticed I did not get the dip that makes the dish. Their a Mac salad threw me off, I've never had shredded pasta bits like that before. My overall experience was good and I definitely will be back.
The ahi katsu special was so good! The chop steak and kalbi combo hit the spot, the meat was very tender, so flavorful!! We also got the banana bread, YUM!!
Ohana Grindz absolutely brought the flavor. Every bite felt like it had something to prove and won. The pork was insanely juicy and packed with flavor, the huli-huli chicken hit that perfect balance of sweet and savory without drying out, and even the mac held its own as a creamy, comforting sidekick. But the real scene-stealer? The katsu musubi. That thing deserves its own spotlight. Crispy, savory, and ridiculously satisfying. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t overthink it, just go. We already know when we’re back in Alaska, this is a guaranteed return stop.
We tried this place for the first time today and we're pleasantly surprised. I had the spicy chicken katsu and my husband had the loco moco. The food was fresh, cooked to order and has so much flavor. The brown gravy and the patty for the moco you could tell was homemade and the meat was juicy and not over cooked or dry and the brown gravy has great flavor and the perfect consistency. The real star of the show was the spicy katsu. It had a Sriracha mayo type sauce poured over the top of the chicken elevating the original dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a crunchy exterior on the breading with a soft juicy center with the chicken. That paired with their Mac salad and it was perfection. I also had the kimchi cucumbers and they were good, I would have them again but they were nothing to write home about.
